The Most Rev’d Joseph Akinfenwa the Bishop of Ibadan Diocese has warned the Federal Government of Nigeria that food scarcity in the country could lead to violent crisis soonest.
In his down – to – earth sermon in Abuja on Sunday 1 December 2024, declared: ” There is hunger in the land and if not addressed it may lead to chaos ”
He was invited by the Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba to deliver 35th Abuja Diocese Thanksgiving’s Anniversary sermon at The Cathedral Church of The Advent Life Camp Gwarinpa.
Without mincing words Bishop Akinfenwa said this government was insensitive to plight of the masses.
The hunger he said was getting worse by the day and the people are crying for help: saying: ” Who is going to help Nigeria ” .
He wondered why Nigeria kept increasing her debt profile. ” and there is no sign to plow it back to alleviate the misery of the people”.
The strange thing about the loan he said was the government kept seeking for it from same country.”
“Up to now we don’t know how much the country is owing”. He reminded the leaders of God’s judgement. ” which is at the door
