Bauchi State Head of Civil Service, Yahuza Haruna Adamu, has sent a clear message to civil servants currently sitting for promotion exams, about its zero tolerance for malpractice.

The HoS issued the warning to civil servants at the 2024 Batch ‘A and B’ Civil Service promotion exam sensitization workshop held on Wednesday, advising them to avoid unethical behaviour.

Haruna vowed that his office will maintain strict oversight to ensure that examination protocols are strictly followed, safeguarding the integrity of the process.

Newspot reports that about 2,800 state civil servants are taking part in the 2024 promotion exams for batches A and B.

Adamu mentioned that the state government has already initiated disciplinary measures against those caught cheating during the previous exams.

He described the examination process as a critical initiative by the current administration to keep the state civil service dynamic, responsive, and capable of meeting the needs of Bauchi’s citizens.

The workshop, he added, is intended to equip civil servants with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in the exams.

Congratulating recent high achievers who passed with an impressive 85% success rate, Haruna commended their hard work and commitment, saying, “Your dedication to excellence has truly paid off, and we are proud of your accomplishments.”

He urged current examinees to aim to surpass the 85% benchmark, setting new records of success.

“Remember, your achievements reflect our collective commitment to Public Service,” Haruna encouraged.

“Stay focused, work diligently, and believe in yourselves. You have the potential to excel and make us proud.”

In his remarks, the state Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Abubakar Usman, lauded Governor Bala Mohammed for his steadfast support of the state’s civil service.

Represented by the Permanent Commissioner, Nasir Mohammed Yalwa, Usman recalled that Bauchi State’s civil service has long been regarded as one of the nation’s best, often setting standards that other states aspire to replicate.
