The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has been commended for the introduction of the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for the conduct of transparent and credible admission into the nation’s tertiary institutions.
The commendation was made by the Rector, Ajayi Polytechnic, Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Dr. Busayo Ajayi, during the institution’s 7th Matriculation Ceremony held on Tuesday, 31st July, 2024, at the Polytechnic Memorial hall.
Dr. Ajayi disclosed that under the leadership of the current Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, CAPS had not only removed all the bottlenecks associated with admission procedures but had also become the only legitimate channel of gaining admission into tertiary institutions thereby restoring the core vision of the Board of giving hope to the Nigerian populace.
In his goodwill message, the Registrar, represented by the State Coordinator, Mr. Hassan Lawal, affirmed that CAPS is the only vehicle through which admission of prospective candidates could be legally processed adding that the initiative had come to stay. He equally used the platform to admonish the matriculants to study hard so as to contribute their quota to the realisation of the developmental aspirations of the country.
Earlier, the Rector, during the students’ oath-taking ceremony of the three hundred and forty five (345) newly-admitted students, stated that the institution’s admissions were conducted in accordance with laid-down rules as contained under the CAPS’s guidelines.
In his concluding remarks, he added that the Polytechnic had gained the confidence of the general public for its strict adherence to admission guidelines as it conduct all its admissions through the CAPS platform.
