Former England international, Jermain Defoe wants England manager Gareth Southgate to give Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins more playing time at Euro 2024.
Defoe said Watkins is dynamic, adding that he can get the Three Lions up the pitch.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker said this ahead of England’s clash with Slovakia in the Round of 16 on Sunday.
“He [Watkins] is someone who can get us up the pitch because he is so dynamic,” Defoe told PA news agency.

“He runs in behind, the ball doesn’t only come to his feet. I would love to see see him involved a little bit more because Harry Kane can drop into that 10 position, to roam and do his stuff.”
