Manchester United have held talks with representatives of Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Frank with Erik ten Hag at ‘serious risk’ of being sacked.

Ten Hag led United to FA Cup glory on Saturday, masterminding a superb win over Manchester City at Wembley to secure his second trophy in as many seasons at the club.

Ahead of the game, reports claimed ten Hag would be sacked following the final game of the season regardless of Saturday’s result.

The victory, which also secured qualification for the Europa League, offered the Dutchman some faint hope with the club’s decision makers conducting a thorough season review this week to decide his fate.

While the club plots their next move, they have continued seek out possible replacements for ten Hag. The Daily Telegraph report United officials have held talks with both Pochettino and Frank as they seek to line up a replacement for the former Ajax manager.

Pochettino left his role at Chelsea after just one year at the helm last week with the Argentine keen to return to management immediately.

The former Tottenham manager was strongly considered for the United role two years ago before the club eventually opted for Ten Hag.

Brentford boss Frank meanwhile has impressed during his six years at the west London club and is also on Chelsea’s shortlist of potential new managers.

Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna is also firmly under consideration.

Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox, United’s newly-appointed chief executive and technical director have reportedly held talks with McKenna’s representatives.

McKenna, 38, previously served as United’s Under-18 coach and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s assistant before joining Ipswich, guiding the club to back-to-back promotions during his excellent spell at Portman Road.

United have also considered Thomas Tuchel for the role with the German leaving Bayern Munich at the end of June.

But United reportedly have reservations over bringing the former Chelsea boss to Old Trafford with questions over whether he is the ‘right fit’.
