The Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun. has announced the arrest of nine people in connection with the murders of police officers inf Ughelli, Delta State
He made the announcement on Thursday 4 April during a Force management meeting.
Ge said individuals who had been detained were now giving the Force information that would help apprehend those responsible for the crimes.
It would be recalled that on February 23, 2024, six police officers were killed at Ohoro Forest in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Meanwhile, six other suspects connected with the killings are at large.
Their death came almost at the same time 17 military personnel were murdered in Okuama the oil-rich Delta State.
During their burial last week, military authorities vowed to hunt down the masterminds of the attack but insisted the development won’t deter them from stamping out criminals from the country.
President Bola Tinubu equally conferred posthumous national awards on the slain soldiers and awarded scholarships to their children.
