As part of efforts to ensure a hitch-free 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as well as review its operations for enhanced service delivery, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is set to organise its 2023 IT and Management Retreat.The two-day retreat, which is scheduled to hold between 26th and 28th November, 2023, would take place at the Abuja Continental Hotel.The retreat would take a holistic look at the Board’s operations with a view to fashioning out strategies for JAMB to be on top of its game, give the public and its clients, in particular, added value as well as assess the level of progress in its implementation of the Honourable Minister’s roadmap for the education sector.The retreat, which would have Zonal Directors, State Coordinators and other critical stakeholders in attendance, would review the accuracy and completeness of its data resource, evaluate progress made, achieved goals, communication with key stakeholders, compliance with policy statements, as well as collate stakeholders’ views and suggestions with a view to facilitating speedier and informed decisions on major issues. The retreat would, among other things, review, the Board’s performance in the 2023 UTME, overall performance of CBT centres, the effectiveness of e-PIN vending, activities of service providers, effectiveness of its test engines and the helpline desks, monitoring groups and the conduct of its examination officials. Furthermore, the retreat is equally aimed at affording the Board the opportunity to celebrate and honour its retired Directors and staff as well as members of the academia, who recently concluded their sabbatical leave with the Board. These are in addition to the recognition to be accorded the Director, Information and Technology Services, who won the 2021 National Productivity Order of Merit Award (NPOM), finalise the 2022 Annual Report, among other germane considerations.
