One of the founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and an enigmatic personality in the political space of Nigeria Chief Olabode George is a year older today.
He has decided to mark today’s birthday in the quietitude of his home in tune with the present situation in the country. However he will be full of praises and thanksgiving to the Almighty God for allowing him to see today alive!!
In a tribute forwarded to newspot one of his mentees and a PDP stalwart in Oyo State Dare Adeleke described Chief Bode George as a man of integrity who “has never waver from the path of truth and justice.”
Felicitating with the former governor of Ondo State, Adeleke said George “is a political gladiator whose achievements both in public office and outside public office cannot be erased.”
He described him as “his father and mentor” saying “Everytime of the year your birthday comes around gives us another opportunity to let the world know what a man of astute integrity you are!
“You are one of the few who stand to fight injustice when other cower in fear. You have never wavered from the path of justice, my great father and mentor.
“You have been one of the stabilizing and constant factors in our great party, the PDP, a party you helped to create, a party you have been most loyal to.
“As a former governor of old Ondo State, former National Deputy Chairman, South and former Chairman Nigerian Ports Authority, your duty to public service and to our country, Nigeria, is exemplary in it’s excellence to service and mankind. For this, we say thank you, again and again, Sir.
“Your nobility is unquestionable and untainted and that is why you are the Atoona of the Yorubaland. The array of titles bestowed on you, my dear leader, mentor and father, are a testament of your service to your people and their admiration and acceptance of your sacrifice both early in life and now.”
