The Deputy Speaker of the House, Benjamin Kalu, called for an adjournment after “Matters of urgent public importance” were considered and adopted.

As he led the discussion, Kalu, an All Progressives Congress, APC, member representing Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, urged the National Assembly leadership to work with organised labour to find a compromise that would benefit the country as a whole.

Lawmakers who made it to the plenary lamented the hardship Nigerians nationwide have been subjected to since the commencement of the industrial action, stressing that every step must be taken to resolve the dispute once and for all.
