Manchester United legend David De Gea took a clear swipe at Roy Keane after Bruno Fernandes’ dramatic winner against Fulham on Saturday.

The Portuguese playmaker ended a difficult week for himself and the club by scoring in injury-time to give United a much needed win against the Cottagers.

United were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City and Newcastle in their previous two matches before their trip to Craven Cottage.

After the defeat to City, Roy Keane said Fernandes should be stripped of the club captaincy.

Fernandes was given the armband last summer after it was taken off Maguire by Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman said Fernandes was an ‘example’ to others following his winner but the plaudits didn’t stop there.

De Gea, who left United last summer, took a clear swipe at Keane by commenting under Fernandes’ Instagram post.

‘You are not the right captain,’ said De Gea.

The win gives Ten Hag some breathing space as the pressure was mounting on the Dutchman.

However, United need to beat Copenhagen on Wednesday to keep their Champions League hopes alive.

The Danes missed a last minute penalty during their trip to Old Trafford last week.
