Total Health Trust (THT) Ltd, a Tangerine Company, held its Annual Healthcare Provider Forum on the 5th of October 2023 at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Conference and Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja, with the theme ‘Quality Healthcare Delivery in a Hyperdynamic Society’.
The Forum, renowned for providing a platform for thought leadership, learning and development and robust partnerships in the healthcare value chain and the health insurance industry, had major stakeholders such as clients, the industry regulator-National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) and over 350 healthcare providers in attendance.
Toyin Deinde, the Chief Operating Officer of Total Health Trust, welcomed stakeholders to the Forum. He mentioned that the world is changing rapidly and that Nigeria is not an exception. Hence, healthcare delivery needed to rise to the occasion of meeting enrollees’ expectations and possibly surpassing them without sparing available resources.
He said, “As stakeholders in the healthcare delivery sector, it is important to evolve constantly as the situation demands because the stakes are higher with end-users wanting more for less. Important features of the healthcare delivery web include ease of access to care, offering flexibility and simplifying the entire enrollee experience journey”.
Dr Chinyeaka Aguboshim, Head of Provider Management at THT, opined that the yearly Forum offers the brand the opportunity to interact with contracted providers, generating valuable insights with the aim of using the feedback received to improve the brand’s plans and processes.

The Keynote Speaker, Dr. Adeolu Arogundade, the Medical Director of the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre (LASAEC), summarised quality healthcare with the acronym SEPTEE (Safe, Effective, Patient-Centered, Timely, Efficient, and Equitable).
Dr. Arogundade stated further that hindrances to quality healthcare, such as infrastructure deficits, workforce shortages, inadequate healthcare funding, energy crisis, counterfeit drugs and poor technology, must be urgently addressed by all stakeholders involved in delivering quality healthcare in Nigeria.
During the panel session, Dr Ifeanyi Godwin, Medical Director, Healing Stripes Hospital, Lekki, Mrs Rita Chukwu, a Deputy Director at the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr Adekunle Megbuwawon, MD/ CEO Orange Health Group, Lagos and Dr Odoji Augusta, Chief Medical Director at ESSO Hospital, Ikorodu lent their voices to the need for constant and timely improvements in the healthcare sector as individuals and the population healthcare needs increase.

“It is essential to put all lessons learnt at this event to bear in your interactions with THT and other health insurance organisations”, said Dr Eyitayo Abejide, Head of Medical Services at Total Health Trust, Ltd. She afterwards thanked all the participants, wishing them a safe trip to their various destinations.
