At the summit, which brainstormed on issues bordering on peace and security across the state, Victor advised Bororo and Fulani to provide information about the criminal activities of their kin in their communities, especially with regard to kidnapping.

Doing this, he explained, would discourage criminal elements from other states from making Kwara State a destination of their choice.

The Commissioner of Police further urged all village district heads, including the leaders of the Miyetti Allah and Gaa Allah communities, to go home and preach the message of peaceful coexistence to their respective subjects.

There was also an extensive discussion on measures to be adopted to mitigate the prevalent cases of kidnapping and farmer-herder clashes in the state.

Concerning farmers-herders clashes, it was agreed by the majority at the summit that roving herders are those that commit most of the mischiefs recorded on farmlands, while farmers’ blaming of resident Fulani for such crimes oftentimes results in crises of confidence between both parties.
Cult-related activities were also discussed, and measures to forestall such crimes were adopted for implementation.
