Trevoh Chalobah is very likely to leave Chelsea in the next transfer window, with Bayern Munich still interested in signing the defender, according to reports in Germany.

The 24-year-old is yet to play for the Blues this season, falling down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino and also dealing with a hamstring injury.

Thiago Silva has remained ahead of Chalobah in Pochettino’s plans, while Levi Colwill and Axel Disasi have also become first team regulars.

Both Tottenham and Bayern made approaches for Chalobah during the summer transfer window but neither could agree a deal with the Blues as they looked for loan moves.

Nottingham Forest had a bid accepted for the centre-back, worth an initial £25m, plus £5m in add-ons, but the player rejected it, holding out for a move to a bigger club.

A January transfer is now very much on the cards, with Sky Sports Germany reporting that Bayern remain keen on the defender and he is very likely to leave Stamford Bridge at the next available opportunity.

After failing to move Chalobah on during the summer transfer window, Pochettino insisted that he was still in his first team plans.

‘His future is going to be [here]. He is in our plans,’ the manager said of Chalobah in September. ‘No one is going to decide for me. He is going to be involved. Now we have finished the transfer window, he is going to be involved in the decisions. Chalobah and the other players in the squad are part of my plans. Some players don’t play, but that is my choice.

‘There is nothing to talk to him about this. He is a Chelsea player and he will have the same opportunities as the others.’
