Gunmen suspected to be bandits eent on rampage at Kabula and Zagzaga communities in Munya Local Government Area of Niger State on Thursday night 28 September and abducted not few than 31 villagers.
A source who wished nit to be named said while twenty-three people were abducted in Tsohon Kabula community, eight women were abducted in Zagzaga.
The Senator representing Niger East Senatorial District, Mohammed Sani Musa, confirmed the incident.
Musa, in a statement signed, said five out of the nine local government areas in his senatorial zone are under siege from terrorists, pointing out that the economic lives of the people who are farming have been destroyed and have increased food crisis and hunger in the area.
Musa called on the Government to do its best to restore normalcy in the senatorial district.
“The latest attack and act of terrorism targeted at the people of my constituency, Niger East Senatorial Zone, by these criminal elements is inhuman, wicked, and unacceptable. The people have been forced out of the farmlands and their ancestral homes, and have been turned into refugees in their land, this is unfortunate.
“I seriously feel the pains of my people, it is very sad to see people being forced out of their homes without committing any crime. My people are helpless and the authority must act immediately to restore normalcy in the community.
