Newspot reported that the Ogun State Government had announced the receipt of 30,000 bags of rice from the Federal Government as part of its attempts to stem the hardship being experienced by Nigerians.

Governor Abiodun, while flagging off the distribution in Abeokuta, said the rice, in 50-kg bags, would be re-bagged into 10-kg bags.

This, Abiodun said, would give government the opportunity to reach out to 300,000 families across 5,400 polling units in the state.

He said the distribution committee, chaired by his deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, will use polling units and not wards for equitable distribution.

He commended President Bola Tinubu for the initiative, which he said would help to check hunger among Nigerians.

Abiodun assured Ogun residents that the palliatives would reach the intended beneficiaries, regardless of political parties.
