The National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) has paid a solidarity visit to the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede and commended him for his managerial skills

NISS, is a leading security institute in Africa, committed to excellence in terms of security studies, research, capacity building and staff development for the Department of State Services (DSS), other members of the intelligence community, law enforcement agencies, regulatory and strategic government agencies in Nigeria and the rest of the world.

The NISS delegation, led by its Commandant, Alhaji Ayodele Adeleke, arrived the premises of the Board on Thursday, 20th July, 2023, and was received by the Registrar in his office, in Bwari, Abuja.

In his address, the Commandant said their mission to the Board’s National Headquarters was to commend Prof. Oloyede on the great inroads he has made in repositioning the Board and, by extension, the education sector in general.

He pointed out that NISS identified with the the erudite scholar and urged him to continue with his good work and not be deterred by the machinactions of detractors.

Alh. Adeleke urged the Registrar to feel free to collaborate and synergise with NISS on areas of mutual benefit such as research, intelligence, security and training with a view to enhancing the Board’s mandate.

“Your organisation is like a security outfit, which touches the life of every family. As such, you must expect adverse reactions from some quarters, hence, everybody must be involved in the affairs of the Board. He said NISS doors are open to you as a dependable ally.”

The security expert condemned the idea of youths cutting corners to attain fame adding that such recognition on account of such cosmetic and fake ‘feat’ is ephemeral.

In his remarks, the Registrar thanked the delegation for the solidarity visit noting that in all the positions he has held, either as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, the Registrar JAMB  or in his official engagements outside the country, he has found the Directorate of State Security Service useful, reliable and efficient.

He said the niche that the DSS had carved for itself informed the Board’s decision to always contact the service on the infraction cases because the Board is always confident it would get the desired result.

He pointed out that Nigeria was becoming complicated, as such it requires intelligence and not force to unravel the hydra-dreaded monster of examination misconduct adding that rather than some Nigerians to see it as a malaise, they decided to give it ethnic colouration.
