The formidable forward is refusing to sign a contract extension with the French giants and plans to move to Real Madrid on a free next summer.
However, PSG don’t want to lose their talisman for nothing and are determined to sell him now for a fee, with clubs all around Europe interested in the World Cup winner.
This has led to Al-Hilal submitting an astonishing £259m offer for the 24-year-old, with the Ligue 1 champions now reportedly allowing the player to speak to his prospective new club.
The Saudi Arabian side plan to offer Mbappe a one-year deal worth a mind-boggling £605m, which would allow him to complete his dream move to Madrid in 2024.
These wages are unlike anything seen in football before, and prompted a hilarious tweet from NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo, which in turn attracted the attention of Mbappe himself.
The Milwaukee Bucks player tweeted a picture of himself with the captain: ‘Al Hilal you can take me. I look like Kylian Mbappe.’
Sadly for Antetokounmpo, there isn’t much of a resemblance between the two athletes, but Mbappe certainly saw the funny side, quote-tweeting the basketball star’s post with many laughing out loud emojis.
That is as close as we’ve got to a response from Mbappe’s camp so far, with the France captain expected to turn down Al-Hilal’s astronomical offer as he wants to spend his prime years playing at the highest level of European football.
Though he supposedly has a agreement in place with Real, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester United and even Tottenham have made enquiries though he, unsurprisingly, he has no interest in joining Spurs.
Al-Hilal have made big moves already this summer, recruiting Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, though they were unable to convince Mbappe’s former teammate Lionel Messi to join them, with the legendary forward signing for David Beckham’s Inter Miami.
