The Jigawa State House of Assembly on Thursday screened and approved the appointment of 14 out of the 16 commissioner-nominees sent by the state governor, Umar Namadi.
The Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, made this announcement during the committee of the whole.
Newspot reports that the governor submitted the names of 16 commissioner-nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening.
The House successfully screened 14 nominees and confirmed their positions as members of the state executive council.
However, the remaining two nominees, Hadiza Abdulwab and Sagir Musa, were not screened.
They were requested to appear before the State House of Assembly for their screening after their return from Saudi Arabia for lesser hajj.
Following the confirmation, the House adjourned its sitting until July 18, 2023.
