Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has opened up on how much debts his administration is owing two banks.
“I am owing the two of them. For access bank, the amount we’re owing them is over N4b while Zenith Bank is over N5b.” He said this during his recent interview on Channels Television.
Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike said, “when I hear that a state is owing about N200b, I don’t believe them because I don’t know where such figure is coming from. In my state, we use just two (2) banks namely Access and Zenith Bank and I am owing the two of them. For access bank, the amount we’re owing them is over N4b while Zenith Bank is over N5b.”
Speaking further, Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike said, “every Kobo my administration got from the 2 banks will liquidate by June this year. When I hear about loan, I wonder and ask if the loans were incurred during the military administration.”
Again, Governor Nyesom Wike said, “in my state, we have no foreign debt and I will not leave any debt behind when leaving office. I don’t think I have ever borrowed money that I’ve never paid.”
