Rio Ferdinand has hailed Croatian star, Joško Gvardiol, who is being targeted by Chelsea.
Ferdinand described the Croatian as his favourite defender at the World Cup, adding that he has ‘all the attributes’ needed to be a top modern defender.
The 20-year-old played a key role in his side making the knockout stages of the World Cup.
The RB Leipzig defender was on the verge of joining Chelsea last summer but his club reportedly rejected the sum of £77million the Blues tabled.
The player suggested last week he was still open to a move to Stamford Bridge and Ferdinand told the BBC, “I have to say, he has been my favourite defender to watch in the tournament so far,
“Also, the aggressiveness. He is willing to get forward, that youth, that fearlessness…”
