……. 1,294,643 Candidates Sat The Examination In Three Days
The 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination( UTME), which started on Friday, 19th April, 2024, would go down in history as the best examination the Board has conducted in the last four decades.
This assertion is on account of the smooth commencement of the exercise despite the series of landmark innovations introduced in the conduct of the examination, which to all intents and purposes, would be expected to generate some challenges.
The examination, which has been used to test some groundbreaking innovations, proved that these were the right thing to do as the Board was able to nip many unwholesome acts in the bud. So far, a total of 1,294,643 candidates had sat the examination between Friday, 19th, Saturday, 20th and Monday, 22nd April, 2024, leaving a balance of 690,999 candidates yet to sit the examination.It would be recalled that a total of 1,985,642 candidates had expressed interest to sit the examination by registering for the exercise, which is taking place in over 750 CBT centres nationwide.
It is also expected that the results of the examination would be released in due course after the reports of the various analyses by the teams of experts are received. It is worthy of note that these mechanisms are put in place to ensure that not even one dishonest candidate is allowed to benefit from his/her unwholesome act
