The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Zamfara State has revealed that adequate arrangements have been made for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to vote in the 2023 general elections.

The State Resident Commissioner, Professor Saidu Barbura Ahmed told Newspot in a telephone interview that all those who have their permanent voters’ cards (PVCs) would be given the opportunity to exercise their civil rights in their respective areas of residence.

He explained that the commission has already started receiving some non-sensitive materials for the elections from the commission’s headquarters as part of preparation for credible and acceptable general elections in the State.

“We are hoping to conduct smooth, credible and acceptable elections and I am reiterating the determination of the commission to engage all the stakeholders in ensuring that all the political parties in the State are given equal opportunity.

“We are all making serious efforts to ensure an enabling environment for the parties to carry out their political activities and we are appealing to stakeholders to give us maximum support and cooperation,” he said.
