🔴 Breaking News:

Based on statistics obtained from the 2023 UTME registration data, it is crystal clear that privately-owned CBT centres performed better than their publicly-owned counterparts, which ironically have better facilities as they derived their funding from the public treasury.

Based on the post-registration analysis conducted by the Board, it was discovered that the below par performance of these publicly-owned centres is not on account of lack of facilities, competent personnel or needed resources but for lack of sufficient commitment to drive the process.

The Board has looked at the gaps and found that some of the staff of these publicly-owned centres are not as motivated as their counterparts in the privately-owned ones.

It is, therefore, against this backdrop that the Board urges the management of all publicly-owned centres to motivate their staff by introducing incentives such as giving them a certain percentage of what is charged candidates no matter how negligible to spur them to do better, which could be in terms of reporting for work early, closing late or reaching out to targeted candidates as is obtainable with the privately-owned centres.

This would not only shore up the revenue base of these centres but would also ensure adequate utilisation of human and material resources at their disposal.
