2022 pilgrimage exercise not yet suspended – NCPC boss, Pam

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam, has said the 2022 pilgrimage exercise has not been suspended.

Pam who made the disclosure in Abuja while hosting the Plateau State College of Mary Immaculate, Zawan Old Student Association (ZOSA), announced that the Commission’s 2022 main pilgrimage to Israel and Jordan is still on course as 12 states have indicated their interest to participate.

He revealed that some of the Commission’s staff were already in some of these states on screening exercises of intending pilgrims.

”The Commission was engaging all the states’ Christian Pilgrims Welfare Boards for mobilization and sensitization of intending pilgrims.”

He, however, assured that the Commission would continue to engage stakeholders and relevant authorities in the Holy land for a successful pilgrimage exercise despite the challenges of funds.

On his part, Chief Danlami Awaje, the National President of the Mary Immaculate College, Old Students Association, said, “Today is an important day to us as a family. We have come to tell you that we are proud of you as a good product of this great school.”
