Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal has said that the local government election in the state is moving peacefully.
Addressing newsmen at his GRA polling unit after he voted, the governor said that he appreciated the level of cooperation by voters and security agencies.
“Honestly, I am very happy with what I saw and the state electoral body is following democratic process,” he added.
According to him, some members of opposition parties are voting without any harassment from anybody, signifying that the election is free, fair and credible.
He commended the Zamfara State Independent Electoral Commission, ZASIEC for a perfect work done towards the success of the election.
The governor urged every eligible voter to come out and cast his or her vote as it is their constitutional responsibility to choose their leaders.
“We are not intimidating anyone because PDP is a ruling party in the state. We will do justice to every political party.”
