The Zamfara State Council of Ulama has expressed its willingness to reconcile all aggrieved political leaders in the state for peace to reign.
This was disclosed by the chairman of the council, Sheikh Ahmad Umar Kanoma, who stressed that the effort is in the best interest of the peace, development, and progress of the state.
He explained that the council had contacted Governor Dauda Lawal and requested his cooperation on the need to allow peace among the top political elites to reign in the state.
The sheikh assured that the governor had agreed with the peace outreach and promised to comply with the request of the council.
According to him, a similar outreach has been organised for the Minister of State (Defence) Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and the first governor of the state, Senator Ahmad Sani Yariman Bakura, noting that all promised to accept the peace efforts.
The Islamic cleric also assured that the initiative would be sustained until peace and reconciliation are achieved.
