England manager, Gareth Southgate has said that Chelsea’s winger, Christian Pulisic will be disappointed with how his career at Stamford Bridge is panning out
The USA international, who was signed as a replacement for Eden Hazard, has found life difficult from one manager to another at Stamford Bridge since his £58m move from Borussia Dortmund in 2019.
Pulisic has managed just 26 goals in 131 games and has struggled to cement a place in the team.
Southgate believes Pulisic has struggled to adapt to the English top-flight but still thinks the winger could cause England some headache when the Three Lions meet the USA in the World Cup on November 25.
Southgate told ESPN: “I obviously watched him a fair bit at Borussia Dortmund.
“I think there’s been moments where he’s looked like he’s on his way, he’s flowing.
“He would probably feel he hasn’t got quite to where he wants to get to yet, I’d imagine, but he’s a very good player and is a player when you’re looking at the opposition team sheet, he’s someone you’ve got to be aware of and got to be ready for.”
England’s first game of the tournament is against Iran on Monday November 25, before meeting Pulisic and USA side for their second group game 4 days later and ending the group with a meeting with next door neighbours, Wales.
