Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode on Sunday said Nigeria has lost some of its biggest and best personalities in the last three days.
Fani-Kayode said the last three days have been a nightmare for Nigeria with the death of Cairo Ojuogboh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC; Brigadier-General Jones Oladeinde Arogbofa (rtd.), former Chief of Staff to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan; and Herbert Wigwe, founder of Access Holdings.
He noted that the death of the trio was a tragedy of monumental proportion to Nigeria.
Posting on X, Fani-Kayode wrote: “Three days ago we lost Hon. Cairo Ojuogboh, a formidable politician, a former Director of NDDC and a former Member of the House of Representatives.
“Yesterday we lost Brigadier-General Jones Oladeinde Arogbofa (rtd.), a distinguished and courageous former Army Commander and the former Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan (@GEJonathan).
“Just as the news of the tragic demise of these two fine gentlemen began to sink in we were hit with yet more bad news late last night when we read reports about the loss of Herbert Wigwe (@HerbertOWigwe), the CEO of Access Holdings (together with his beautiful wife and son) and my childhood friend and brother Bimbo Ogunbanjo, the Chairman of the Nigerian Exchange PLC, in a horrific helicopter crash.
“The loss of each and every one of these notable and accomplished individuals is a tragedy of monumental proportions.
“The last three days have indeed been a nightmare for Nigeria as some of our brightest and best have been cut short. Our nation is undoubtedly the worse for it and we shall miss them all.”
