“Why put a superstar like Ayra in such a weird and uncomfortable position?” – Cardi B reacts to TMZ’s interview with Ayra Starr (Video)

American rapper Cardi B has reacted to a street interview conducted by American entertainment outlet TMZ with popular Nigerian singer Ayra Starr.

The interviewer had asked Ayra about her thoughts on Cardi B forgetting the name of the designer of her MET Gala outfit.

Recall that the 2024 MET Gala took place in New York City on Monday, May 6, and the theme was “Garden of Time” in conjunction with the Costume Institute’s spring exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

Celebrities arrived in fashionable and unique outfits, including Cardi B, who didn’t dress in line with the theme. She also failed to recall the name of the designer of her attire, even though they worked on it for months.

Days after the event, a TMZ reporter spotted Ayra on the street of NYC and asked about her thoughts on it. Responding, Ayra said she doesn’t know but it happens and it can be due to nerves.

Cardi B came across the interview video online and rebuked TMZ for attempting to stir controversy and putting Ayra in such a strange position with their questions.

She tweeted,

“Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa try to be messy and mission failed ..also why put a superstar like Ayra in such a weird and uncomfortable position?”
