Martinez is among the substitutes for Wednesday’s clash with Argentina still fighting to secure their place in the knockout stages of the competition.
Lionel Scaloni has named a centre-half pairing of Nicolas Otamendi and Cristian Romero.
According to Ole, that change at the back is due to concerns over Martinez’s height. Tottenham centre-half Romero has been preferred to the United star as Scaloni views him as a better option to battle against Poland star Robert Lewandowski.
The Argentina staff are also keen to give Romero more minutes to enable him to gain some match rhythm and confidence should they secure their place in the last 16.
Romero was hooked immediately after Saudi Arabia took the lead against Argentina in their shock victory over the two-time world champions, with Martinez brought onto replace him.
The former Ajax star helped his country keep a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Mexico on Saturday.
Elsewhere in the Argentina side, Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez comes in to join Lionel Messi and Angel di Maria in attack, selected ahead of Inter star Lautaro Martinez.
Beating Poland will guarantee La Albiceleste a place in the last 16 as group winners while a defeat will see them eliminated at the first hurdle.
In the event of a draw, they would need the other group game between Mexico and Saudi Arabia to finish as a draw too.
Goals from Messi and Enzo Fernandez gave Argentina a fighting chance on Saturday night with the legendary no10 insisting mounting pressure on the squad was relieved that night.
‘We lived with discomfort given the defeat in the opening match [against Saudi Arabia] was something we didn’t expect,’ Messi said.
‘The days felt very long and we were eager to have the chance to turn it around. We knew it was a critical game.
‘Luckily we had the option to win and it was a weight off our shoulders, a reason for joy and peace of mind because it is all down to us again.’
He added: “I tell people the same thing, that they continue to believe. Today we did what we had to do. We had no other choice. We had to win so that we depended only on ourselves.’
