United are looking for their fourth win in six league matches to keep with the pace in the race for the Champions League top four.
Erik ten Hag’s side start the day just a point behind Newcastle in fourth having played one game less than the Magpies.
Meanwhile, Unai Emery will be in the home dugout for the first time having been recently appointed by Villa, who will be desperate for the three points in order to put some distance between themselves and the bottom three.
But fans wishing to settle down on the sofa to watch the match will be disappointed to learn the match won’t be shown live on TV.
Here is the reason Aston Villa vs Manchester United will not be shown live on TV today.
Why is Aston Villa vs Manchester United not on TV?
The game won’t be shown on TV simply because it hasn’t been selected for TV coverage by the broadcasters.
Instead Sky Sports, who show the Sunday matches in the Premier League, have decided to broadcast Southampton vs Newcastle (2pm) and Tottenham vs Liverpool (4.30pm).
United were playing against Real Sociedad on Thursday night, and as is customary for English clubs playing in the Europa League, their game with Villa has been scheduled for Sunday to give the team extra recovery time.
How to follow Aston Villa vs Manchester United
Thankfully for fans, live radio coverage of the game will take place on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Highlights of the match will be shown on Match of the Day 2 tonight at 10.30pm on BBC One.
