The Gunners will be hoping none of their momentum is lost when their players head off to the Qatar tournament which starts on November 20.
But exactly which members of Mikel Arteta’s squad will be jetting off to Qatar for this winter’s competition?
Here are the Arsenal players taking part in the World Cup 2022.
Aaron Ramsdale
Arsenal’s number one has been named in Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man squad – but he is likely to be number two or number three in the Three Lions camp behind Jordan Pickford.
Ramsdale was drafted into the England squad after the first game of Euro 2020 last year following an injury picked up to Dean Henderson.
Matt Turner
Turner has impressed in his Europa League outings this season when replacing Ramsdale between the sticks.
The American stopper has 20 caps for the national side and could line up against England when the two sides meet on November 25.
Takehiro Tomiyasu
Tomiyasu has become a dependable cog in the Arteta machine when called upon and he will be part of a talented Japanese side heading to Qatar.
The 24 year-old made his debut for Japan in 2018 and has made 29 appearances in total in international football.
William Saliba
Saliba has been in outstanding form at the back this season following his return from a loan spell with Marseille, and it is a measure of his performances that he has been given a place in the France squad given the impressive array of centre backs available to manager Didier Deschamps.
The Frenchman only made his debut for the senior side back in March, with seven caps for Les Bleus currently under his belt.
Ben White
White will be off to Qatar with England this winter after dominant performances at centre back and right back for the Gunners this term.
The 25 year-old was originally not included in England’s Euro 2020 squad, but the former Brighton player was called up to the squad following the withdrawal of Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Granit Xhaka
Xhaka will be part of the Swiss contingent heading to the Middle East despite coming off during the first half of the 2-0 win over Wolves with illness.
The midfield hardman has made over a century of appearances for the Swiss and will play in his third World Cup after the 2014 and 2018 editions.
Gabriel Martinelli
Despite shining for Arsenal in the Premier League this season, Martinelli’s place in the Brazil squad came as shock to some given the envious collection of attacking talent available at the South Americans disposal.
The 21 year-old has only made three appearances for the senior side following his debut against Chile in March earlier this year.
Gabriel Jesus
Despite not scoring since the 3-1 derby day win over Tottenham on October 1, manager Tite has shown his faith in the 25 year-old by giving him a seat on the plane to Qatar.
Jesus started all five matches for Brazil in the 2018 World Cup but failed to get on the scoresheet as Brazil crashed out at the quarter-final stage.
Bukayo Saka
Saka will be part of the England team looking to win its first major trophy since 1966.
The popular forward was part of the England squad at Euro 2020 and cruelly missed a penalty in the final against Italy.
