Information from the Enuowa Palace, Ile-Ife said the Ooni who is a son of a Veteran Broadcast Engineer , whom  I worked with at the Broadcasting Corporation  of  Oyo State BCOS Ile Akede in 1982 as Head of Studio Manager Unit, consultated the Ifa Oracle. Oonirisa.

Oonirisa was believed to be a Priest to Orunmila the Progenitor of the Yorubas.I learnt that  The Ifa told him to marry seven wives (some said ten).

Ooni as a Priest of IFA  yearly  Celebrate OLOJO FESTIVAL- a day  set aside for  creations of deities where he must not see the sun for 21 days just staying in seclusion. His much advertised wife, a Prophetess of the Christian community could not cope when the information first filtered out.

So she ran literally saying. There’s no known formal divorce till date. So it is not a question of how many wives the Ooni has to marry, it’s a matter of obedience to IFA Oracle which has been highly criticized by the uninitiated especially Christian Prophets.
