“The only credible explanation for this state of anomie and the apparent helplessness of the populace is the way the country is structured. Revolution can only happen in a country where its citizens have a common language, history and cultural affinities. Not in Nigeria! There is nothing to unite the people against their oppressors. The elites are united in corruption and the usurpation of the commonwealth, while the rest of the population are united in chains and penury!”

Over the weekend terrorists kidnapped a group of passengers on a train In Edo State. Latest news is that the terrorists have demanded N20m per passenger for their freedom. Elsewhere in Lagos, a group of peaceful demonstrators agitating for self- determination which is an inalienable right guaranteed under the United Nations were shot at, resulting in at least two deaths.

Yet the people continue to fill stadia, praise and hail their oppressors as the politicians transverse the country to solicit their votes. You see why I continue to say that Nigerians are specially conditioned for suffering and degradation. Something which the Great Fela called “Suffering and Smiling”. I make bold to say if South Africans were Nigerians, apartheid would still be flourishing today. Because they would continue to find justification for its sustenance. There is perhaps no country in the world that can face half of what Nigerians are facing and not witness a revolt from its citizen.

That is why I am of the utmost belief that the Yoruba continue to stay in this forced contraption at at their own peril. Only the Fulani know what they want from this British plantation called a country, and they have been positioning themselves strategically to fulfill their mission. The rest of the country, including the so called educated Yoruba and their Southern counterparts are just helping them fulfill their mission. Sooner than later, perhaps in a few years from now, it shall be discerning even to the most uninformed.

But by then, it would be too little, too late!
