Two Policemen Killed in Plateau Clash with Kidnappers

In a tragic turn of events, two police officers lost their lives during a confrontation with suspected kidnappers in Plateau State. The incident occurred on February 27, 2025, along Little Rayfield Road in Jos, where the kidnappers attempted to abduct their victims.

The Plateau State Police Command, through its spokesman DSP Alabo Alfred, confirmed the incident and reported the arrest of four suspected kidnappers involved in the attack. The deceased officers, Fatoyo Femi and Inspector Dafur Dashit, were part of a special team dispatched from Abuja to bolster the state’s fight against kidnapping.

DSP Alfred expressed condolences to the families of the fallen officers and stated, “The Plateau State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of the arrest of four suspected kidnappers in the recent foiled kidnapping incident. However, two of our officers… lost their lives during the exchange of gunfire with the suspected kidnappers.”

The Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Olugbemiga Adesina, urged residents to remain calm, assuring them that the situation was under control and that investigations were ongoing. He also provided emergency contact numbers for citizens to report any suspicious activities.
