Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has picked former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard as the toughest opponent he has faced in the Premier League.

Hazard spent seven successful years at Stamford Bridge, winning two Premier League titles, two Europa Leagues one FA Cup and a League Cup.

The Belgium international also registered 110 goals and 81 assists across all competitions for the west London club, but hasn’t been able to hit the same heights since joining Real Madrid in 2019.

When he was on song for Chelsea, Hazard was extremely difficult to stop with his speed, skill and low centre of gravity.

Though Alexander-Arnold has faced a whole host of elite players in England’s top flight, he named Hazard as the toughest.

Eden Hazard, yeah,’ Alexander-Arnold told Amazon Prime.

‘The best by probably a little bit of a distance.

‘Maybe [Kevin] De Bruyne, but directly against an opponent would have to be Hazard.

‘Speed, agility, his awareness and his intelligence on and off the ball is unreal.’

Hazard has been linked with a move back to the Premier League, with a return Chelsea and a switch to Newcastle United mooted.

But recent reports in Spain have suggested that the winger wants to fight for his place under Carlo Ancelotti at Madrid.
