Transfer: Not about money – Chelsea striker Guiu on leaving Barcelona

New Chelsea striker Marc Guiu has denied that he left Barcelona for money.

The Blues activated a £5 million release clause to sign the 18-year-old.

Guiu had reportedly rejected a new contract with the LaLiga giants.

The teenager told BBC Sport of his decision to leave Barca, saying: “It was not an issue with my contract. I’ve always dreamt of playing in the Premier League and Chelsea is a great club with a lot of history. It was a tough decision but it was an amazing opportunity, so I had to go for it.”
