Liverpool on Monday announced that goalkeeper Marcelo Pitaluga has agreed a permanent transfer from Anfield to his former club Fluminense.
The Reds disclosed this in a statement via their website.
Pitaluga is behind Allison Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher in Liverpool manager Arne Slot’s choice of goalkeepers.
The Brazilian has spent more than four years at Liverpool and was named in the senior match-day squad on seven occasions.
Pitaluga also represented Macclesfield FC, St Patrick’s Athletic and Livingston on loan during his time at Liverpool.
“Everyone at LFC wishes Marcelo the best of luck for the future,” Liverpool’s statement partly read.
This is coming less than 24 hours after Liverpool’s Premier League 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Sunday evening.
Slot’s side are currently on top of the Premier League table with 46 points from 19 games.
However, it will be interesting to see if Slot will choose to bolster his squad during the ongoing January transfer window.
The Reds are ahead of Arsenal, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Manchester City on the log.
