Chelsea on Friday confirmed that defender, Levi Colwill, has left Stamford Bridge to join Brighton & Hove Albion on loan.
Chelsea said in a statement via its website that Colwill departed the club as Marc Cucurella joined the Blues on a permanent transfer after signing a six-year deal.
Cucurella officially joined Chelsea from Brighton this summer.
“Levi Colwill has joined Brighton & Hove Albion on loan on the same day Marc Cucurella makes a permanent transfer in the other direction,” Chelsea’s statement read in part.
“Nineteen-year-old Colwill has been at Chelsea for 10 years, having joined the Blues’ Academy at Under-9s level. He trained with Thomas Tuchel’s squad during pre-season and has featured regularly for our Academy sides, as well as representing England at various youth levels.
“The defender now has the chance of top-flight experience with the Seagulls who finished ninth last season.”
