Tottenham captain Son Heung-min reportedly dislocated his finger in a bust-up with a South Korean teammate during the Asian Cup.

Son’s South Korea side were knocked out of the Asian Cup after suffering a shock 2-0 loss to Jordan in the semi-finals.

Those watching the game noticed that the forward had two of his fingers on his right hand strapped together, with the strapping still in place when he returned to action for Spurs in their 2-1 win over Brighton last weekend.

The Sun now claim that this was because he had dislocated a finger after getting into a fight with a younger teammate the night before the Jordan match.

It is said that the bust-up occurred after several of the younger members of the South Korea squad, including PSG’s Lee Kang-in, ate quickly so they could leave a team dinner early and play ping pong.

Son, who also skippers his national team, was less than impressed with his teammates’ conduct as he sees dinner as a chance for team bonding and duly confronted those involved.

‘Disrespectful things’ were said to the 31-year-old which led to an altercation, with players having to be pulled apart, and in the process Son injured his finger.

The injury does not appear to be impacted the player too much, as he came off the bench to assist Brennan Johnson’s 96th minute winner against Brighton.

That result leaves Spurs fourth in the table, seven points off Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Son will now be in contention to start their next game on Saturday when they host Wolves.
