I feel privileged to celebrate my Kabiyesi, His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Odunayo Ajayi Arowotawaya II, the Elerinmo of Erinmo, on this beautiful day.

He is one of the few traditional fathers who have consistently demonstrated appreciation of his roles on the Stool of his forefathers. He has consistently shown an inspiring understanding of his traditional expectations and roles. He has shown a very dignifying comprehension of the importance of the Stool he sits on.

He is a natural king. As organic as he could be. He knows how to be a king. He carries himself accordingly. He speaks accordingly. With restraint and caution. With integrity and dignity. He exudes without any difficulty, propriety, and majesty. He is an exemplar of splendor and poise.

Divinely gifted with aristocratic physiognomy, his presence is commanding and kingly, unintentionally intimidating. Magnificently imperial. Resplendent and regal.

He is an apotheosis of grandeur and grace. Decorum and decency. He is baronial and regnant. He operates within the confines of cultural etiquette. He seamlessly radiates courtliness and worthiness. He is a true ambassador of our tradition and culture. His mere being is a source of pride and inspiration. He is a worthy representative of our ancestors. A true and authentic son of Oduduwa.

My Kabiyesi, His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, the Elerinmo of Erinmo, is in a special class.

Today is Kabiyesi’s birthday.

May his days be many on the Stool of his forefathers. May his reign continue to be a blessing to all his subjects. May he continue to be a source of pride and inspiration to many of us. May his joy and happiness be beyond the reach of his enemies and detractors alike. May he, the members of his family, immediate and extended, his Chiefs and townspeople, his admirers all over Ijesa land and Yoruba land, and his enthusiasts across the planet always remember this beautiful day for good. Ase.
