President Bola Tinubu leaves Abuja on Thursday, May 23,2024 for N’Djamena, the Republic of Chad, in order to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of President Mahamat Déby.
Deby won the closely watched presidential election after garnering more than 61 percent of the vote, according to the numbers released .
This eliminated the need for a run-off with his closest rival, Prime Minister Succes Masra, who received 18.5 percent.
The victory allows Deby to hold onto the presidency in the central African country.
