This Morning regular chef Phil Vickery was forced to address why his shirt had changed halfway through the show after host Holly Willoughby spotted the difference.

Phil was on-hand to cook up some tasty treats for Holly and Phillip Schofield on Wednesday morning, putting together some tomato soup and his take on a Welsh rarebit.

However, something left the hosts distracted when the TV chef returned to make his second dish of the day, a plum crumble cake.

Holly asked him: ‘Are you hiding from someone this second part of the show?

‘Because you were wearing a mustard-coloured shirt and now we can’t see you at all!’ she joked after noting that he was currently in a camouflage shirt.

‘No, what happened was, I got tomato soup all over the last one,’ laughed the chef.

‘I was in the kitchen and I moved the stool and there’s still a big black mark across it,’ Phil added.

The This Morning favourite said he went to wardrobe after his incident but was unable to find anyone there.

He said: ‘I even had to iron my own shirt, there you go!’

Phillip went on to quiz him: ‘Is that your shirt? Did you come in with that today?’

However, the chef explained he had to ring wardrobe to supply him the shirt, with Phillip laughing: ‘We wouldn’t have been able to see you if you had!’

The trio giggled over the unfortunate moment, as Phil reminded his co-stars of a previous moment from last year’s Halloween.

He continued: ‘Remember at Halloween when I was that tree stood in the kitchen, turned around this way.

‘The boss said to me, “Look, what’s that tree doing in the kitchen?” and I just turned around and it was me!’

Elsewhere on today’s show, Holly and Phillip were joined by stars Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham to discuss their upcoming Channel 4 drama, Help.

The series, written by Jack Thorne, is the pair’s first time working together despite having known each other for a number of years.

Stephen admitted to the hosts he and Jodie had both approached Jack to ask about creating a series to feature them both playing alongside each other.

He explained: ‘That’s its inception, I just said Jack please write something for me and Jodie, I’d love to work with her!’ soon after finding out Jodie had done the same.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
