I offered an admonition in my first article on the terrorist attack that Natanyahu must exercise some caution and restraint not to overreact to the attack but to please give a proportional retaliation to the unjustified aggression and terrible provocation by Hamas because I have a premonition the attack may well signify the beginning of the Third World War.
I make that comment as a Historian because it is easy and cheaper to start a War but it is far much harder and far more expensive to end it without causing too much collateral damages in human lives and properties.
I blame Intelligence failure for the start of the most vicious attack on the tiny State of Israel sInce the Yom Kippur Attack on the Jewish State since 1973.
This particular attack is even worse than the devastation of the Six Days War between Israel and her hostile neighbors led by Egypt and President Gamel Abdel Nasser.
That War was clearly won by Israel due to efficacy of accurate and flawless intelligence displayed by the Israeli Mossad and the Military who knew way ahead of time, what the Arabs were planning but they pretended to know nothing. They knew everything the Arabs were doing but looked the other way.
They struck and bombed all the jet bombers and Aircrafts and Air amored vehicles and carriers that had been gathered in secret to Spring up a surprise attack on Israel but the Arabs Coalition of Forces got a shock of their lives when the Israeli Armed Forces bombed all of their Jet bombers and Armored Carriers.
The Israeli troops had moved on the Arabs from the Air, from the Ground and from the Sea leaving the Arabs no other option than to surrender in 6 days after the War had started.
It was a terrible embarrassment to President Gamel Abdel Nasser and his country’s Armed Forces who led the War.
President Nasser did not recover from the shame. He was rumored to have committed suicide leaving President Anwar Sadat as his successor to negotiate the peace settlement.
That development had given Anwar Sadat a reason to reconsider the way forward for Egypt after such a draconian and humiliating loss to Israel.
That was what Informed his decision to participate in the peace initiative brokered by President Jimmy Carter in what became the Camp David Peace Accord between Menahem Begin, Anwar Sadat and Yissa Arafat in the United States 3 years after the Arab Coalition tragic loss to Israel
Intelligence failure is tantamount to going into War without information and adequate preparation for what the opposing Army is thinking and how to successfully counter them.
It amounts to shooting in the Dark if you don’t know ahead of time the vulnerabilities of the opposing Army and their strength and weaknesses and their soft targets and how mentally and tactically prepared for war they are, and their state of readiness for the war.
Unless, you have all of that Information at your beck and call, you stand the chance to hurt yourself and your troops in moving against the enemy.
The Hamas Terrorist had managed to hide all of their detailed planning for the latest attack from the Israeli Army and Mossad the Israeli Secret Police which is famous to be among the best in the World until this latest attack.
Hamas has managed to lure the Israeli Army into a false sense security that Hamas was in no position to pull off a surprise attack like they did a few days ago.
Hamas has managed to find an Antidote to the Patriotic Missiles the Israelis have used in the past to neutralize the effectiveness of the rockets shot at them by the terrorists from Palestine , from Lebanon and from other Arab Nations close enough to pose a big threat to Israel.
If the Israeli Troops move against the terrorists without knowing where they have kept their captured hostages
they could mistakenly be shooting at and killing their own citizens while trying to defeat Hamas and to wipe away the Group from the surface of the Earth as Prime Minister Natanyahu has promised to do in the heat of the emotions generated by the terrorist attack.
Natanyahu would certainly not want a Pyrrhic victory which is a victory in which the winner loses more than the vanquished when all is said and done.
Hamas and Groups and countries opposed to them might end up attacking Iran, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey and Iraq and all of the Arab nations currently sympathetic to the Palestinians and to Hamas.
By so doing, they might unknowingly be drawing some other nations into the conflict much to their own risk and disadvantages and before you know it, the move may have precipitated a War they have never intended or envisaged.
What started as a revenge or retaliation war against Hamas could end up becoming a much wider conflict just like happened in the Second World War from 1939-1945.
Nations like Iran could also declare war on countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia and UAE , Jordan and even America which are all now have a reason to be openly supportive of Israel.
The situation in Israel, Gaza and West Bank could well lead to the Third World War like I predicted in my last article.
I have been to Israel, Gaza and West Bank and to Golan Heights and Palestine, so I know what I am talking about. The war could easily spread to other countries and that is what Joe Biden does not want.
America and the whole world could not have been luckier that Joe Biden is the one now on the saddle as President of the United States. The guy has experience and he is precisely the right man to be leading America this time because he is handling the crisis the right way with a steady hand unlike what Donald Trump would have done. He would have escalated the War rather than end it
The whole world is in turmoil right now with the situation in Ukraine and the tension in Taiwan as we speak and the tension in the Korean Peninsula between North and South Korea, and the tension between China and the Philippines on the Pacific Ocean may sooner than later resort into the Third World War in no time.
The only saving grace and the Rock of stability is Joe Biden, take it or leave it. He is absolutely right by urging Israel to strictly observe the rules of War in going after Hamas and pursuing them to the Gates of Hell, as needed. It was the correct advice from a World leader of substance.
That is what we are talking about. It is not Rocket Science.
The failure of Intelligence that has lured Israel into a false sense of security today is part of what is happening in America right now with Donald Trump indirectly encouraging home- grown terrorists in America to start creating a serious division between the Democrats and the Republicans so they cannot agree on anything.
It that stalemate that has slowed down the selection of a speaker in the Congress and the delay of promotions in the Rank and File of the US Military, and the passing of Budget, as we speak in America, that is not something to be taken lightly at all.
That kind of polarization and distraction going on between the two major political parties in America may provide a chance or opportunities for terrorists to want to strike again in America.
Nathanyahu has just demonstrated a sensitivity to that need in Israel by quickly forming a Unity Government in Israel because a nation divided like Trump is advocating for America is an absurdity.
If the terrorists can strike in Israel, the members of the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers who nearly succeeded on January 6, 2021, can also strike again in America and may be more successful this time around.
When Donald Trump is actively fomenting insurrection in America, he is creating an opportunity for terrorists to strike again in America.
He is therefore posting a serious security risk and another failure of intelligence to America in that context for those who can read between the lines.
It is time for America to wake up to the dangers posed by Donald Trump to another possibility of another terrorist attack in America similar to the one Hamas has just pulled off in Israel and similar to the one on 9/11.
It is only a question of time, and Time is of the essence.
