Application of the rule of political might (where you rely only on your wealth, pride and political influence) might not often work in any contestant’s favour whereas the application of the rule of political law involving the employment of all the ingredients of DEMOCRATIC DIPLOMACY would most often work in favour of the contestant!
The way I understand what Deji Osibogun is saying is that no one is against anyone vying for the Governorship seat of Ogun State out of just the mere sounding of the drums of entitlement necessity after years of political denial, but the pattern of occupying the position has to be renegotiated apart from being keenly contested!
He is saying that being the next Governor of Ogun State can not be a freeride for anyone due only to his heavily fortified financial muscle and political influence alone but would need the application of renegotiation through the best in political humility, wisdom, wit and negotiation dexterity in the application of DEMOCRATIC DIPLOMACY!
If we could sit down to patiently review the 1st and 2nd parts of Deji Osibogun’s philosophically reasonable and logically responsible presentations, I would not say that he is directly against the ambition of YAYI but he is only trying to sound a note of advice or warning to all stakeholders in the 2027 Governorship contest that Ogun State is too sophisticated for anyone to believe that he could only use his mere wealth advantage and political connections to easily walk to the successful claim of the Governorship seat without any political resistance from other entitled ethnicity components in Ogun State!
No one is saying that YAYI from Yewa is not qualified to represent the interest of the YEWA but the YEWA must note that the Awori, Ogu, Ketu, Ohori, etc within Ogun West also have the right to field a candidate each!
The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr N Salako might not openly declare that she is interested but she can not be ruled out from the race if one considers her level of 100% loyalty to and collaboration with PDA, personally I can not say that she is not interested but only lying low not to ruffle the feathers of anyone ìn the best application of political pacifism: DEMOCRATIC DIPLOMACY!
Her approach, has ever been that of the fact that no one can easily read the mind of any introvert as it is easier to read the mind of an extrovert!
The introverts usually have the advantage of hiding tĥeir intention until the last winning card is due to be tendered to amazingly win the game!
Deji Osibogun is just bringing it to the fore that the Ijebu from Ogun East whose rights to reoccupy the position, had to, on several occasions lose their chances to Remo, just as YEWA lost their opportunities to the Egba from Ogun Central!
When some of us from other ethnicities in Ogun State were advising that the approach of succeeding to get to the Governorship seat requires the use of appropriate, wisdom, wit, intellect and humility which are the tool components of DEMOCRATIC DIPLOMACY some from YAYI’s side were quick to state that Deji Osibogun was their enemy whereas he was only trying to let the YEWA to know the fact that they have to be conscious of the realities on the ground that it’s not only their population demographic (YEWA) which had experienced the adversity of the political relegation to the background in the affairs of contesting to occupy the Governorship seat since 1979 when the opportunity for civilian Governorship was opened to all population demographics in Ogun State!
If I were a strong and loyal supporter of YAYI who actually wants him to occupy the Governorship seat in Ogun State in 2027, I would refuse to take any rough and antagonistic posture to defend YAYI but go back to my drawing board of strategy restructure to apply the best of intellectual skills, humility asset, renegotiation approach etc in DEMOCRATIC DIPLOMACY to win more of supportive loyalists from other population demographics in Ogun State!
Establishing unity only in Ogun West alone might not guarantee YAYI the 2027 Governorship seat but he has to extend the tentacles of his unity bond of acceptance to Ogun Central and Ogun East where it is impossible for anyone to easily threaten them with the warchest of intimidating wealth or any arrogance in political influence expression, as it appears to be possible for YAYI in Ogun West!
Do not assume that YAYI’s unity-command influence in Ogun West is enough, but he has to win the universal acceptance in all the Ogun State Senatorial Districts as well!
The truth is that Ogun East and Ogun Central where we have a lot of individually wealthy (multiples of billionaires unlike in Ogun West where it might be very rare to find a billionaire) and politically influential might prove to be tougher to win unity-support for YAYI than in Ogun West!
Though we all know that YAYI is in the good books of the current Governor PDA and Senator OGD, YAYI should know how to sow the genuine seed of friendship between YAYI and each of them!
I am sure that OGD would like to go for the 2nd term in the Senatorial slot but some are bringing it to my knowledge that PDA is also interested in the slot though not yet officially declared!
There is no doubt that OGD and PDA are political titans from Ogun East
