Men and brethren, the news came to me that my brother in the Lord and Security expert, AIG Bola Longe passed on yesterday, Sunday 22nd December 2024.
I was not informed of the cause of his death but the Nigerian Bar Association, Ibadan branch has confirmed his death.
Bola Longe who hails from the famous Longe family of Ijesha land retired as Assistant Inspector of Police had five degrees including Political Science and Law.
He had served as DCP at Plateau State Police Command before becoming CP at Nasarawa State where he confronted banditry head long and built a Church at the Nasarawa Police headquarters.
Before his retirement, he founded God’s Elect Ministries International at Eleyele, Ibadan with his wife.
I knew Bola Longe in the mid 80s when I was Oyo Editor of The Republic Newspapers and he was the Police Principal Public Relations Officer at the Eleyele Police Headquarters. We are both products of the Ibadan Varsity Christian Union IVCU.
Bola Longe was a member of the Presidential Campaign Council of APC in the last General Elections. He’s a chieftain of the APC in Osun State.
Well then, a General of the Lord has gone to be with the Lord.
His family will announce his burial passages soon.
