Residents of Kankara LGA, Katsina State, are under palpable tension following reports of a significant gathering of alleged bandits within their vicinity.

According to a source from the axis, over 100 motorcycles carrying assailants were seen converging in the Dansabau forest located in Kankara LGA.

The assailants reportedly belong to six bandit camps in Katsina, led by known leaders such as Dankarami, Bazaru, Alh Illa, M. Ikko, and Babaro da Mobe, and are purportedly assembling to meet other leaders from the Zamfara axis to unleash terror in the coming days.

Salisu Bardi, the chairman of Kankara LGC, acknowledged the situation.

“We are aware of the development, and we have directed Katsina Watch Corps and vigilantes around Baba, Masaku, and Kaikabayas areas to monitor their movements and alert security forces about any developments,” Bardi stated.

However, in response to the looming threat, a vigilant member of the community alleged that this has always been the trend, calling on the military to take preemptive action. He suggested an air raid on the area to prevent potential repercussions.
