A Petroleum Taskforce in Jigawa State has sealed the IMG filling station in Dutse for tampering with its metres to shortchange customers.

Chairman of the Taskforce, Colonel Muhd Alhassan (rtd) sealed the business following an inspection visit to filling stations in the state capital.

Alhassan said despite warnings to fuel stations, IMG Petroleum refused to correct its metres and does not possess paraffin, which is the standard measuring gauge.

According to him, for every 10 litres, the fuel station shortchanges customers of about 1.4 litres, an equivalent of about N900.

He noted that the state government will not fold its arms to watch a few individuals engage in unwholesome practices to cheat citizens.
