The Swede, 75, was diagnosed with a form of terminal pancreatic cancer in January.
The former England manager says he has a year to live ‘at best’ and that he will fight ‘as long as possible’ to stay alive.
After revealing the devastating news, Eriksson gave a number of interviews and revealed that he was a lifelong Liverpool fan.
Jurgen Klopp then said the club would open Eriksson with ‘open arms’ to Anfield, and suggested that he attended the legends’ match against Ajax in March.
And the Swede has taken the club up on their offer, with Eriksson agreeing to form part of the management team alongside Sir Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush.
Speaking in January, Eriksson revealed his terminal diagnosis.
‘Everyone can see that I have a disease that’s not good, and everyone supposes that it’s cancer, and it is. But I have to fight it as long as possible,’ he said.
“I know that in the best case it’s about a year, in the worst case even less. Or in the best case I suppose even longer. I don’t think the doctors I have can be totally sure, they can’t put a day on it.
“It’s better not to think about it. You have to trick your brain. I could go around thinking about that all the time and sit at home and be miserable and think I’m unlucky and so on.
