The Super Eagles of Nigeria will wear their new 2020 home stripes tonight when they meet Algeria in what is the first ever friendly match fixture of both teams.
The new Super Eagles kits were rolled out in January this year in the US and were to be worn for the first time in March during the postponed back-to-back Africa Cup of Nations qualification fixtures with Sierra Leone.
The home stripe which the team will wear tonight comes on Nigeria traditional colours of green and white.
The white runs down the middle from top to bottom while the pitch green and white patterns hang on the shoulders just like an Agbada (flowing robe)
Last month, in a chain of tweets, the Nigeria Football Federation reeled out the attires using some players as models.
Incidentally, Wilfred Ndidi who was one of the poster boys will not be in action when the team wears the new kit for the first time tonight.
The away kit is all-grey with the pitch green and white patterns in the V-shaped collar and sleeves.
Tonight’s encounter is the first friendly between both sides despite numerous competitive clashes.
